Joel concentrates his practice on helping clients through complex divorces, child custody and child support disputes, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, as well as post-divorce enforcement and modification proceedings.
Joel’s background in commercial, matrimonial and family litigation brings to bear a skill set necessary to effectively resolve cases through settlement and, when needed, litigate matters to their conclusion. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced at an international law firm where he worked on and advised clients on commercial, matrimonial and family matters in the appellate, trial and family courts. Prior to that, he served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Allan L. Gropper of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, during which he handled matters involving fraudulent conveyance and commercial disputes.
Joel received his J.D. from Fordham Law School, where he was an associate editor of the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial law. He received his B.S., magna cum laude, in accounting from the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business, where he was a member of the Honors program.
Joel is admitted to practice in the state of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association where, from 2015 to 2018, he sat by appointment on the LGBT Rights Committee.
