Christopher A. Bakar is an associate in the firm’s New York office. He represents clients in matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, custody, visitation, prenuptial agreements, and complex financial issues.
Chris began his career at one of the country’s leading firms concentrating on ultra-high-net-worth trust and estate and matrimonial litigation, where he worked on sophisticated matters involving substantial domestic and international assets. He also gained experience in complex commercial litigation during law school at boutique firms in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Long Island, New York.
Prior to law school, Chris served as a policy analyst for the United Nations Population Fund in Amman, Jordan, where he worked with government and private-sector stakeholders on funding and policy initiatives. Chris has substantial ties to the Middle East and North Africa, and his regional familiarity and language skills have been an asset in matters involving international clients and cross-border issues. He is proficient in Spanish and Arabic.
Chris earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law after completing his first year at the University of Miami School of Law. He received his A.A. from Bard College and his B.A. from Stony Brook University. A native New Yorker, Chris was born and raised in Queens and now lives in Long Island City.
