Alexandra is dual qualified as both an attorney in New York and a barrister (trial attorney) in England and Wales. She is an associate tenant of the prestigious family law chambers in England, 4PB.
Alexandra specializes in matrimonial finance and child custody with an international element. She has extensive trial experience and has advocated in complex family law matters in both trial and appellate courts.
Alexandra graduated from the University of Oxford in England, where she read Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She then attended law school in London, before practicing as a barrister in England and Wales. Alexandra obtained her second master’s in law from Columbia Law School in New York City, where she graduated with High Honors (in the top 10% of her class).
Originally from the UK, Alexandra has received numerous legal and other awards, including being recognized as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in England in The Lawyer Hot 100 and a Top 100 Changemaker by The Big Issue in 2021. She was also recognized as Barrister of the Week by The Lawyer and as Woman of the Year by Precious Awards in 2020.
Outside of work, Alexandra likes to write. She published a bestselling book, In Black and White: A Young Barrister’s Story of Race and Class in a Broken Justice System (Hachette UK) in 2020. Her second book titled The Witness, a legal thriller, will be published in June 2024. Alexandra is also an avid public speaker who has spoken at over 40 companies, law firms and schools; on numerous TV shows, radio shows and podcasts; and at some of the UK’s biggest literary festivals.
Alexandra lives in Manhattan and loves to travel with her husband and her toy poodle, Ruby.
