Laura Ravinsky

Laura is an associate at Aronson Mayefsky & Sloan where she represents clients in all aspects of divorce.

Before joining AMS, Laura spent four years as a Court Attorney to the Hon. Rachel A. Adams in a dedicated Matrimonial Part of the Supreme Court, Kings County. In that role, Laura assisted in the determination of complex matrimonial disputes involving a wide range of substantive and procedural issues, including child custody, equitable distribution, child support, and spousal maintenance. Laura spent the first two years of her legal career at a civil litigation defense firm.

Laura was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, where she received a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from McGill University. She has training in the major applied areas of Counseling Psychology. This interdisciplinary experience helps Laura identify and address sources of conflict dynamics and propose concrete solutions to those issues.

Laura moved to New York to attend the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. There, she was competitively selected to participate in the renowned Innocence Project Clinic, where she helped pursue wrongful conviction claims. She likewise served as an editor on the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution, and her Note was selected for publication in the journal’s seventeenth volume.

Laura is admitted to practice in New York and has been recognized in Super Lawyers as a 2023 New York Metro Rising Star and in Best Lawyers 2024 Ones to Watch.
